Nigerians give goals values that are monetary. An earlier attempt was thwarted because foolishly it was politicised. Some retired but not tired military men should be recalled. Hardened Boko Haram jihadists in an imminent swapping of prisoners agenda have struck again. The putsch of 1966 and subsequent coups robbed Nigeria of its gallant and finest military officers coupled with the new craze of the average Nigerian to throw sacrifice to the winds and go for money -a distorted reality resulting to misplaced priorities. They initiated an attack on another front to distract our more equipped army and pronto, our army fell for the trap and left their duty post without leaving a detachment behind to protect the students and their own rear in a war zone?
How can one explain this disgrace, that, a rag-tag army led by a bunch of untrained bandits have tactically outmanoeuvred a superior force, more equipped and experienced, with a paraphernalia of sophisticated and intelligence gathering gadgets, be outclassed in a tactical manoeuvre by bandits. Of recent, the public has been bombarded by incredible stories of security lapses that make one feel like shedding tears.
